Sunnybank Primary School Successful Application for the Wellness Investment Programme Whitefield
Sunnybank Primary School in Whitefield successfully applied for a Wellness Investment Programme grant of £949.99 in June 2024 to support a free forest school project based ,after hours at the school, called ‘Sunny Bank Outdoor Club.'
Lancaster Roots Community Garden- First Right to Grow site
The Right to Grow was launched in Bury in June 2025 as part of the campaign led by Incredible Edible Prestwich and District. The Right to Grow campaign was about improving the council process to make it easier for community groups and other VCSE organisations to take on council-owned land for food growing projects.
Following the press release, local resident Natasha approached Incredible Edible Prestwich and District about starting a new growing site in Ramsbottom. Bury Council reviewed the proposed site and approved it for growing activities in July 2025.

Be part of one of Bury’s most exciting community events! The Bury 10K is a fun, friendly run open to all abilities, and they’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help make it a success.
The event is particularly looking for route marshals. The role is a great chance to spend the morning seeing the event close up, and you’ll be primarily there to sing (if you wish), dance and cheer on the runners.
Due to the nature of the role, you will need to be 18 years of age or over
