The Fusilier Museum was the splendid venue for the symposium which was attended by residents and representatives from many organisations, all with dementia experience and expertise. The event, held on 6th May, had presentations on a range of topics including:
- Greater Manchester Live Well
- The Support Group experience
- Co-production with carers
- Healthwatch report
- What’s On Where (WOW) Guide
- Falls & Frailty
- The family experience
- Setting up a group: support from VCFA
Building on the excellent work by voluntary support groups that already happens, the event will give us all the opportunity to co-produce even more support in Bury for people with dementia experience.
David Barnes, Age Friendly Development Worker at Bury VCFA said “we can all raise awareness about dementia and help make Bury a dementia friendly place”.
