Local Social Entrepreneurs Gather for Bury Social Pitch Event
Last Thursday we hosted our Bury Social Pitch, and what a night it was! 8 local social entrepreneurs bravely took to the stage to share their fantastic work and make a ‘pitch’ to an audience for their vote and the chance to win a £300 cash prize. It was a very inspiring evening showcasing the fantastic work and impact of social enterprise in Bury, with participating organisations working in arts and culture, community health and wellbeing, skills development and food & drink.
The event attracted over 30 local residents and community organisations who all engaged brilliantly with the pitch, helping to create an encouraging and relaxed atmosphere to calm the nerves of those taking part.
Our amazing social enterprise pitchers:
• The League of Curiosity
• Happy Me Community
• Community Medics
• Step to Empower
• The Sober Sloth
• Spark Life Movement and Wellbeing
• Drum Happy
• Neuro in Nature
Congratulations to Drum Happy, Spark Life and The Sober Sloth for making the top 3 in the very closely-fought audience vote, each winning a £300 cash prize to go towards their core costs.
And a big shout out to all the participants for putting themselves out there, honing their pitching skills and making such a positive and memorable event.
Alongside the pitch, everyone got involved with networking, idea-sharing and connecting with others passionate about social enterprise in Bury.
A big thank-you to everyone who came along and helped make the event such a success! And a special thank you to the Oasis Centre at Whitefield Methodist Church for providing such a great venue.
