Role Description
Speak up. Be heard. Make change!
As a volunteer, you will support Youthwatch Bury in fulfilling our purpose in being the champion for young people using health and social care services in Bury. You will make a difference by connecting with young people in your local community to ensure that the experiences of seldom heard youth can help make health and care better.

With Youthwatch Bury, you can personalise your volunteering experience based on your own interests and preferred activities. You can carry out only one of the roles described below, some of them or even all of them.
Community engagement and Outreach - You will play an important role in speaking to young people in the community about their views on local health and care services. You will speak to with people via hospitals, libraries, shopping centre stalls, Healthwatch and community events. Online engagement via social media and other platforms may also be part of this role. You will ensure people’s voices are collected and heard in the right places.
Photography – You will join us at events, public engagements and more. You will take photos of the team and their interactions with the public. We will use these photos on our website, newsletters, social media and more.
Social Media / Digital Media Creation - You will create content for Youthwatch Bury , like banners, posts, videos, short clips etc. We will post these on our digital networks, like Instagram or Facebook.
Enter and View - You’ll be part of a team which plans Enter and View visits, including speaking to service managers, patients and staff. You’ll record these experiences and with your team, have a discussion on what’s working well and areas for improvement within the visited service. You may travel all around Bury to support in social engagements or events. Travel expenses are provided, see 'Benefit to the Volunteer'.
Some volunteering roles/activities can be completed remotely.
