Binge eating - Peer support

Role Description
Family SEN group is excited to bring on board a kind, supportive individual with lived experience of binge eating, or experience supporting someone struggling with binge eating. This role will include holding teams sessions aimed at neurodivergent adults once a month for 1-2 hours. The sessions will be semi structured using up to date scientific data. The volunteer will not be advising others, just sharing information. No therapeutic or medical advice is to be given. The volunteer will be listening and holding a confidential safe space for people to be able to share experiences. All volunteers will have full support in creating these sessions for as long as needed. All training will be provided free, with expenses covering travel up to an agreed amount.
Important Note on Wellbeing:
To ensure the wellbeing of our volunteers, we kindly ask that applicants who have personal lived experience of binge eating are currently in a stable stage of their own recovery journey, as hosting these sessions can sometimes be emotionally demanding.
