Group Co-ordinator

at Bury Society for Blind & Partially Sighted People

Role Description

We’re looking for two enthusiastic Volunteer Group Co-ordinators to oversee social/peer group meetings.
One is in Bury, on the third Wednesday of each month from 1.30 to 3pm.
The other is in Prestwich, on the second Wednesday of each month, 2 to 4pm.
Volunteering to co ordinate these groups is more than simply giving 2 to 3 hours per month - it’s the heartbeat of a community that truly needs you. For many group members, these gatherings are a lifeline: a place where isolation softens, confidence grows, and friendships form in ways that can change someone’s entire month. By stepping into this role, you’re not just organising a meeting; you’re creating a safe, warm space where people feel valued and connected. You’ll witness moments of courage, laughter, and shared understanding that will stay with you long after the session ends.
If you’re someone who believes in being kind to others, inclusion, and the power of human connection, then this is a perfect opportunity to make a real, lasting difference - one meaningful conversation, one welcoming smile, one monthly meeting at a time.
Training and ongoing support will be provided, so you’ll never be on your own. Just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to make a real difference in your community!
