Bury Voluntary, Community and Faith Alliance (Bury VCFA) is celebrating after being awarded over £250,000 in National Lottery funding to strengthen the voice, capacity and influence of voluntary sector organisations working with children and young people across Bury.
The funding, awarded by The National Lottery Community Fund, will support a three-year programme launching in January 2026. The project will be led by a soon to be advertised Children and Young People Development Officer, supported by Bury VCFA’s wider team.
The project will enable Bury VCFA to deliver targeted training, increase its strategic support offer, including expanding the voice of local groups and organisations, and support its work on youth-led grant-making. Ultimately, helping local groups better to serve young people and families in the borough.
Helen Tomlinson, Chief Officer of Bury VCFA, said:
“We’re thrilled that The National Lottery Community Fund has recognised the importance of investing in the VCSE sector’s ability to support children and young people. This funding will help us build a more confident, connected and influential sector—one that truly reflects the voices of young people and the communities they live in.”
