Conflict Resolution and Managing Difficult Behaviour

This session forms part of the Volunteer Leadership & Culture Series 2026, a six-part development programme designed for volunteer coordinators, leaders, and managers. The series supports those responsible for volunteers to strengthen their practice, reflect on their leadership, and build healthier, more sustainable volunteer cultures within their organisations.

This is course 3 of 6 and looks at conflict resolution and managing difficult behaviour within volunteer settings. The session explores why conflict arises, how to address issues early, and how to respond calmly and fairly when situations escalate. It focuses on maintaining boundaries, protecting wellbeing, and balancing compassion with accountability.
