Role Description

Little Britain Anglers are a passionate local fishing and conservation club that bring new life, regeneration and activities to the River Irwell and nearby canals. We are looking to expand our volunteer team and are now seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to help strengthen and grow our community of volunteers.
The Volunteer Coordinator will work closely with the Chairman and wider committee to organise and oversee work parties on the stretches of water we maintain, support with volunteer recruitment, and help develop and engage our volunteer network both in person and online. This role is a blend of on-the-ground involvement and behind-the-scenes coordination.
The role includes:
Planning, scheduling and coordinating work parties
Supporting volunteer recruitment and engagement
Communicating with volunteers and helping build a strong, active network
Liaising with the Chairman and committee on upcoming tasks and priorities
Helping organise activities to maintain and improve our waters
Providing occasional hands-on support during work parties

Type of Activity: Ongoing, Suitable for individuals to apply, Suitable for groups to apply, In person volunteering

Suitability: Suitable for 18 year olds and over

Time commitment

Work parties usually happen once a fortnight. Typical time commitments include: 2 hours for a general tidy-up 4 hours for larger tasks such as canal clearances Additional flexible time for planning and volunteer communication as needed
