Role Description

Little Britain Anglers are a passionate local fishing and conservation club that bring new life, regeneration and activities to the River Irwell and nearby canals. We are looking to expand our volunteer team and are now seeking a Fundraising Volunteer to help secure vital funding that supports our projects, events and ongoing environmental work.

This role involves identifying suitable funding opportunities, preparing applications to organisations such as the local council and the Angling Trust, and writing clear, detailed information about the projects we are seeking support for. Previous experience with funding applications or bid writing would be an advantage, but enthusiasm and good writing skills are equally valued.

The role includes:

Identifying local and national funding opportunities

Preparing and submitting funding applications

Writing clear and detailed descriptions of proposed projects

Working with the committee to understand project aims and costs

Helping to develop a long-term fundraising plan

Ensuring accurate record-keeping for each application

Type of Activity: Ongoing, Suitable for individuals to apply, In person volunteering, Virtual volunteering

Suitability: Suitable for 18 year olds and over

Time commitment

Each funding application varies depending on the size and complexity of the funding pot. As a guide, volunteers can expect: 1 to 15 hours per funding pot, depending on the requirements
